Born and raised in the quiet state of Vermont, Holden grew up surrounded by music, beginning lessons on the trumpet in 2015 at seven years old. He studied the instrument with Jason Whitcomb throughout his time at Essex High School, where he participated in a number of regional festivals. It was in his Junior year that he discovered his love of composition, and began writing music for orchestra and band. He has composed a variety of works for ensembles such as the Vermont Youth Orchestra.

Holden is set to attend the Crane School of Music in the fall of 2026.
